USW Officers and Staff Strongly Support Mental Health Week

May 3, 2016

Today is the start of national mental health week and a continued commitment to stop the discrimination of those suffering of mental health issues. Those suffering from mental health can be a friend, co-worker or family member. All too often we fail to recognize the illness or turn a blind eye, rather than support the person affected. Mental illness is treatable but requires the support of everyone to give those affected the strength to acknowledge their personal challenges and receive the kind support of those around them. Those dealing with mental health issue are all around us and deserve our support and understanding as they strive to continue their everyday lives. The Officers and staff of USW local 1-424 strongly support the Prime Ministers message on this week of awareness and pledge our continued efforts to support and help bring forth positive change to those dealing with this illness.
